I’m currently with the Georgia Straight newspaper in Vancouver, Canada. I serve as coordinating editor, which means I help different departments talk to one another and ensure cooperation between the company’s print and digital formats. I also help direct content on the newspaper’s website and maintain the company’s presence on a variety of social media networks. In between all that, I produce content on a daily basis, including in-depth features, topical blog posts, and everything in between.
In one capacity or another, I’ve maintained an association with the Georgia Straight since he was 15 years old. I joined the paper’s editorial department in 2006.
During a two-year hiatus, I travelled to the west coast of Africa and based myself out of Monrovia, Liberia. That time saw me work as a freelance journalist, primarily writing for Al Jazeera English and Think Africa Press. My writing and photographs have also appeared in Africa Report magazine, Canada’s Toronto Star newspaper, Inter Press Service, and others.
